     Bikaner is a city in the far reaches of Rajasthan in northern India. The Maharaja of Bikaner was one of the more enlightened leaders of his time and was known to be very progressive, which may account for the city’s bustling nature.
His home has been turned into a lovely hotel. The city has a magnificece for in its center and is well worth a visit. Because of its relative isolation, Bikaner is not exactly on a routine tourist route. I enjoyed the city immensely and loved staying in the former home of the Maharaja.
